[At least she's breathing. Caitlyn will glady accept Vi's usual morning grumbles, if it means she's alright, but she's still so confused. What in the world happened in the few minutes she was in the other room??]
Vi, you're covered in-- [Blood?? Yeah, that's definitely blood, but whose blood was the question? Also how???]
Please, you need to wake up. This is serious.
[All the while, she's searching and scanning for any signs of injury, but there doesn't seem to be? No source, which is a good thing, other than the fact that she's still covered in blood.]
[Not when she says it like that. Caitlyn at least can breathe a bit easier knowing Vi does in fact appear to be alright, but that just makes her all the more curious what was going on.]
What happened? I was only gone from the bedroom for a few minutes, and I came back to you looking like this. [She knows how weird and crazy this place is, but this is a whole different level of crazy? Did time stop and she miss something??]
["This tower"? At first, Caitlyn has no idea what Vi is on about, but then she remembers the strange advertisement that came across her tablet for a Tower challenge. She had brushed it away, uninterested in the challenges it described, but here is Vi, telling her she participated in it??
How? When? Unless... time really did stop, in a sense. Unless Vi left, fought it in, and came back, all in the time it took Caitlyn to simply blink.
How could this place continue to be so impossible?]
Vi... please tell me this blood isn't Silco's.
[not that it being Vi's would be any better but!! Gods.]
[she looks down at herself and winces, moving to get up and start throwing her dirty clothes in a corner to probably be thrown out later. there's some new scarring near her abdomen... but it looks like otherwise she's unharmed.]
[Caitlyn watches as Vi pulls off the stained clothes, and of course she sees the scarring she doesn't recognize. She's seen Vi's body enough that she knows it's not something that's been there before.
It's not hard to put two and two together.
If it wasn't Silco's blood, then it had to be hers.]
What's that? [She's on her feet the second she notices she strange new scarring, moving closer to the other woman, worried-- how could she not be? Vi was apparently transported to a strange tower and trapped in a room with Silco? Only a moron would think that would think that could possibly end well.]
Did he-- did he do that to you? [Her hand hovers over the area of her abdomen, but she doesn't touch it. She doesn't want to hurt Vi, even if the area looks completely healed. If she didn't know better, she would say it had always been there. But it hadn't.
[she'd been hoping that Caitlyn wouldn't notice. that she'd be able to strip and change pretty quickly, or at least long enough to take a shower and everything. but Caitlyn is too smart, notices too many details... and she doesn't know why she tries.
she sighs loudly.]
Yes. But he died first. It's fine.
[it's absolutely not fine, but she's throwing over another loose shirt on her now, so that nobody has to see it or think about it.]
He what? First? [Caitlyn knows exactly what she heard, but she's almost begging Vi to correct her, to tell her she heard her incorrectly.
It wasn't that she didn't want Silco dead. He had already died, once. He was probably better off dead, than starting trouble here in Aldrip. But she wouldn't even consider doing something like that, with her moral compass. She didn't even want to hurt Jinx, after everything Jinx had done to her.]
Vi, please tell me you and Silco didn't kill each other. [Again, she doesn't so much care about him. She's more worried about what this would mean for Vi. Jerry and the Council weren't exactly forgiving to anyone that stepped out of line around here. And not only that, but there was the Jinx situation to worry about too. Did Vi not think about what this would mean for her relationship with her sister?]
[Yeah, Caitlyn's sitting again. She puts her face in her hands momentarily, before dragging them down to cover her mouth.
Vi losing her temper? Yeah, that doesn't surprise her. Especially if Silco was goading her. But still. She made a choice, doing what she did. And a very, very poor choice at that.
As Vi finally sits down, Caitlyn straightens, turning to look at the other woman again.]
[Caitlyn sighs. She could easily be mad at Vi, but what was the point? Vi was already going to beat herself up about it enough as it was, especially if Jinx really did get upset. And who was she kidding, Jinx was not going to be happy. Even if it was only a matter of time before this happened. She was just relieved Vi came back to her, safe and mostly sound.]
Do you feel better, now that you can say you killed him? [Vi wanted him dead for so long. Even if that isn't something that's necessarily permanent here, Vi still made it happen with her own hands. But judging by the look on Vi's face, Caitlyn's pretty sure she's realizing it wasn't as satisfying as she thought it would be.]
[he always does. he always fucking does. it's so annoying, and she hates being told to just step back and let it happen. she's not that sort of person.
and yet...]
No. I don't feel better.
[it borders on the edge of a snap, but she reels it back in right before her temper flares. none of this was Caitlyn's fault, so it doesn't really make any sense to take it out on her...]
[Caitlyn frowns, but doesn't flinch at Vi's snaps. She knows it's not directed at her. Vi is angry and hurting and Caitlyn knows she lashes out when she's like this, even if it's not intentional.]
I'm not surprised. I doubt it was fulfilling for him, either. Maybe now that the two of you have it out of your system, we can be done with the murder attempts.
[She still hates Silco just as much as Vi, but there was no point in trying to hurt each other in a place like this. Even if they died, they just came back, and most violence just ended up putting them on the Council's radar. It just wasn't worth it.]
[Caitlyn nods. She knows how hard it is for Vi to say these things. Especially because Caitlyn barely even knows who Mylo and Claggor even are, just getting bits and pieces about what Vi's family was like before her prison sentence.]
Continuing the cycle of violence never fixes things. If I wanted to, I could hate Jinx-- want her dead, even. But it's like you said. It doesn't change anything. It doesn't bring the dead back.
[It doesn't bring her mother back. Caitlyn knows all too well how easy it could be to let hate rule you, but she made a choice long ago not to let it.]
[there's a long silence, and finally Vi finds herself leaning her head on Caitlyn's shoulder. there's not really much else she could say here, but her vision swims with tears.
but she's going to blink them away. she's absolutely not going to cry.]

[she finally starts to wake up. the tone in Caitlyn's voice is starting to really nag at her, like something really is wrong.
she opens her eyes a bit, and then looks up at her.]
Hey, cupcake. It's a little early for you to be freaking out like this.
no subject
It's a little early for you to getting into fights, and yet.
[She gestures towards Vi, to her blood covered body, with an expectant look. Did she even know what was going on? Cause Caitlyn sure had no idea.]
no subject
and then she blinks some more.]
Would you believe me if I said I'm not quite sure how I got like this?
no subject
[Not when she says it like that. Caitlyn at least can breathe a bit easier knowing Vi does in fact appear to be alright, but that just makes her all the more curious what was going on.]

[she puts her hands out in front of her, and then looks down at her outfit again. she starts stripping it off, lmfao.]
So I was in this tower, doing all these weirdass challenges. And then... I was in a room with Silco.
[wheeze.]

she knows what she did. she knows what it's probably going to do to Jinx.]
... We did. Kill each other, I mean.
[her eyes unfocus slightly as she looks at the floor.]
I really lost it this time. I couldn't help it.

You realize Jinx isn't going to handle this well?
no subject
[she's still looking at the floor... that is, until she scrubs at her face with both hands.]
I wish I could say that something else made me do it. But... it was all me. He wouldn't stop talking about Vander.

Yeah. It's kind of pointless here, isn't it? And it doesn't change anything. Vander, Mylo, and Claggor are still dead.
[the words hurt her, like a knife to the heart. but... it was true.]

It's not fair.
[that's all she says now, quiet. bone tired.]
