[ooc; i decided to move our beach thread to your inbox instead having it in the log. hope you don't mind. i feel more comfortable putting it here.]
[jinx had never been the type of girl to be punctual when it comes to meet ups. maybe her younger self would have tried her damnedest to be on time to things when it came to housebreaks, but not this present version. except today, she is being very particular with her get together with vi, that for once, is not going to result in a fight, an argument, or any hostile terms.
in a bikini (custom made, naturally) with a basket in hand, and two beach towels tucked under the other, jinx hunts for a spot so the two of them can have lunch, and to relax together in the sun. she told her sibling to meet her here whenever she gets done with whatever she was doing prior to this, and jinx can't help but to wonder how vi will take the news of her new hairdo. they haven't seen each other since last month, only had been speaking through via phone, by which she does feel guilty about her lack of presence.
it gets difficult for her to balance quality time between vi and silco, especially when silco has the tendency to get extremely clingy. from an outside prospective, the codependency might be alarming and a red flag, but his behavior is ordinary to her, so the sirens often, if not always, descends on dead ears, and the red flags lose its vibrant shine. so by that, it does seem she spends more time with her father than her sister, but it definitely has nothing to do with favoritism. that is impossible, but she believes in her sister, and knows she is one of the strongest people she's ever known. vi doesn't need the extra care like her father does, and she can vision vi bouncing back way quicker when she is down and out than her father. not to say silco is a weaker man, no. but he needs an additional calculated time to himself before he can rise from the surface anew.
thus why her decision of keeping her distance from her was so firm. as long as she has caitlyn and her friends, vi can make it through life without her, she believes. she can do whatever she wanted, and be whoever she wanted if she doesn't have to worry about her baby sibling getting in the way of things.
well.
it's neither here or there now, and if they are going to stay in this simulation for who knows for how long, it's better for them to get back on track with how things used to be. as ekko said," it's never too late to build something new, someone worth building it for." and vi is that person who is worth creating something for. with the towels situated side by side on the sand and placing the basket of goodies in the middle, the bluenette pops a squat on her beach towel with a sigh. she then rummages in that said basket for the sunscreen — already feeling the sun kissing her pale skin a little too vigorously for her taste.]
[it's always something or another when they say they want to do something. something gets blown up, people go insane, their memories get re-written... it's always so much. and yet, especially now, she doesn't know if she'd trade it for home. to have both Caitlyn and Jinx here? to be able to spend time with her little sister without all the baggage of home?
in a way, she feels lucky.
she's wearing swim trunks and a sports bra looking top as she gets to the beach, cooler in hand as she kicks off her flip-flops and sits down next to her sister.]
Since when are you on time?
[she says, also never really having the best time with being on time...
and then:]
Nice haircut.

Since I knew I was going to hang out with my biggest hero today.
[she grins her way as she applies one last bit of sunscreen she can reach herself, then tosses the bottle to her sister. jinx pivots in her seat to expose vi her back, a way of asking her to rub the sunblock on her back.]
Thanks! Hair was getting heavy and I wanted to lay off all the hair products.
[she starts to apply the sunscreen to Jinx's back though, low-key feeling Some Kind Of Way about her comment. she really... really wasn't hero material, but knowing Jinx thought of her that way touched her.]
You go for the short hair while I grow mine out. Always destined to be opposites, huh?
[she does... have longer hair than Jinx now, doesn't she?]
[she agrees then once vi is done coating her back with sunscreen, she does the most annoying thing and flops back onto her sister's lap. it's possibly irritating because now her legs will feel the sticky and oily substance of the cream from her back.]
You think the lard will wind up in this dump? He'll show everyone what real cooking is.
[Vi just sighs as Jinx flops on her, but starts applying sunscreen to herself.]
Oh, you just wanted to get that shit on me...
[she doesn't sound or look like she actually minds it at all, because of course she doesn't. every moment that she gets to spend with her little sister means worlds to her, and she knows Jinx doesn't even know it.]
It'd be too easy if he showed up here. Maybe it's a form of punishment in of itself to be stuck here without his food.
[she sticks her tongue out as a rebuttal, but then watches her sister apply the sunscreen. every so often, she pokes a spot on vi's skin to show which area that still needs to be covered.]
Yeaaah, guess you're right. We're stuck here while Ekko gets to hog it all for himself. Lucky bastard.
[or maybe not so lucky seeing he is back in runeterra all by his lonesome without the two of them. but the boy savior has hemidinger (ha) and his firelights, so... he should be in good company.]
[she was going to take fix those spots, honest. don't be a mother hen to the mother hen!
she looks away at the mention of Ekko, and sighs as she finishes applying the product.]
Well, he's gotta have something good back at home. He was kind of... isolating a bit, after everything.
[not that she could blame him. he probably felt like he'd lost everyone at that point, minus her, who had Caitlyn. maybe made him feel more alone in some respects, watching them together.]
[as vi looks away, jinx does too to gaze down at the sand crystals and how still it is. she forces herself to shrug nonchalantly about the topic she brought up on her own, and she says with a lack of care in her tone: ]
He'll bounce back. He'll buzz around like he always does, then he'll nail the girl of his dreams, have a big family, and live happily ever after in no time.
[and she'll be happy for him when that moment comes for him, even if she desperately wishes she could be that girl. but they're not meant to be; the universe proved that way more than she could probably count in two hands.]
[she starts to rake her fingers through the sand now too, appreciating the softness of it under her skin. something she never thought she'd actually see back home.]
He's pretty stuck on someone. Been stuck on her for better or for much worse, I think.

Hey, doing the same shtick gets boring! And we do have a few things in common.
[to pled her case, she points over to the ocean across from them.]
We love to eat the little rascals out there. The juicier, the better. WITH a dash of slime.

[she says it with a sort of amused laugh though.
but she watches where her little sister points and nods, tilting her head.]
The slimier the better. Jericho's was the first place I went to when I got out of prison, did I ever tell you that? He always had the best shit.

[she forces a chuckle as she twists from below her sister, now facing her stomach, but her eyes trail up to see vi's somber expression.]
I'm a mess. And he doesn't deserve to be with messes. ... You don't either.
